Step 1: Set Up a Digital Wallet

To start your journey with NFTs, the first thing you'll need is a digital wallet. It works much like a home in the real world: it has an address, which you share with others, and a key (a 12-word recovery phrase), which you keep private to access your "digital home" from anywhere. On the Solana blockchain, the most popular wallet is Phantom.

Step 2: Fund Your Wallet

Once you've installed Phantom, deposit some funds and buy Solana (SOL) coins. You can transfer from another wallet or use your credit card. SOL is the currency you'll use to buy NFTs on Solana blockchain. With funds ready, you can explore NFT marketplaces like Tensor or Magic Eden to start purchasing.

Step 3: Buying NFTs

All the NFTs in the Miners of Mars collection are already minted, meaning they can only be acquired from other holders. Ownership of each NFT is transferred via wallets. There's a small, optional royalty fee, but it's the project's main source of income. Paying it helps us keep building and growing.

Step 4: Choosing the Right NFT

Your choice depends on your budget and preferences, but in most cases best one is the one you like the most. In the Miners of Mars game, for example, Safety Miners protect mining crews from hazards, making them more expensive. Miner Avi on the right has protective glasses, a shot firer hat, and safety suit.

Step 5: Start Digging $OSM

Click the button with four squares to view the NFTs in your wallet. It may take a moment for them to appear. Once they do, head to the Miners Pit, log in with your wallet, and start digging Osmium $OSM. If you have more than one miner, you can even form a crew for increased efficiency.
